S1 and S2

Pupils take a Social Studies course in S1 which includes unitsfrom the three departments. In S2 they take the 3 subjectsseparately. There is provision for different abilities within all thecourses with an increasing emphasis on the use of new technology,such as computers and video.

S3 and S4

In S3/4, Standard Grade courses are well established in all 3departments; all emphasize individual responsibility for learningthrough investigations, projects and fieldwork, often of the localarea. Decisions as to what level they sit are based on performanceduring the course.
