Outdoor Education is an integral part of the curriculum in St.Margaret's - we complement the work done in the classroom in subjectssuch as Geography, Biology, English and Maths through activities suchas orienteering, navigation and outdoor pursuits.

We try to give pupils a broad grounding in a variety of pursuitsin the first 2 years using the S1 residential week as a startingpoint followed up with a further 2 days in S2 in which pupils mayhave tried:

Skiing is also available after school.

One of the most important claims made for outdoor education is inthe field of personal development where we work closely with guidancestaff to provide pupils with a profile of the activities they havefollowed during their school careers. This is of great interest topotential employers since it gives an indication of character, ability to work with others and responsibility.

All this takes place under the supervision of highly qualifiedstaff in an environment where safety is paramount.
