All pupils take Home Economics during their first 2 years.
The subject prepares both boys and girls in important skillsnecessary for life. It gives practice in the safe and informed use ofequipment, materials and procedures. Also it provides the opportunityfor pupils to gain the organisational skills necessary to equip themfor a changing society.
The department is fortunate to have an extensive range of up todate resources and equipment such as microwave cookers, overlockersand electronic sewing machines.

In S3/4, pupils may choose to study Standard Grade Home Economics.This course covers 2 year's work and is divided into 3 elements:
