Supportcan be tailored by teachers to suit a range of ability levels and theself assessment module will produce a report on the work.With Imaginative Writing, Writer's Toolkit now covers writing a story ora play with specific help targeted at both genres. PlotMaker is a newtool incorporated when users choose to write a play, providing detailedhelp on devising a plot, inventing characters and planning locationsfor the scenes in the play.

All of this help is easily accessible throughout Writer's Toolkitdisplayed on the Side Bar on each screen.

DialogueMaker is another new tool for the PlayWriter's Toolkit,encouraging users to incorporate stage directions at appropriate pointsin their dialogue. Other new types of writing included in Writers Toolkit 2 are a journalin Personal Writing and a research paper in Functional Writing. Thejournal allows the user to select the time period they wish to cover,providing a NoteMaker for each day. The research paper incorporatesIntroduction, Main Points, Conclusion and Bibliography NoteMakers withResearch Notes support note pad.

Writer's Toolkit 2 comes with its own spell checker which has beenrequested by a large number of teachers. The spell checker isavailable in the Word Processor and ProofMaker but can be switched offin ProofMaker to encourage pupils to correct their own mistakes.Writer's Toolkit 2 also includes a text to speech facility which speaksdialogue boxes, help screen and can read any text the user types in. This feature has proved particularly popular with pupils who use it toread out their story when it is completed. The speech facilityincludes 32 different voices which can be selected by the user.
