Packaged Materials - Twice Per Year
For busy teachers, ASSIST provides a single source of reference givingthem access to relevant information as and when they need it. Twice a year, schools will receive a package of materials containing both CD-ROM and printed materials, with further information and assistanceavailable from SCET via a local call rate helpline.

Examples of the kinds of information contained on the CD-ROM are:
Information from Scottish CCC, SCET and SEB on resources for the 5-14curriculum in English, Mathematics, Religious and Moral Education,Expressive Arts, Technology and Assessment.

Resources information for pupils with Special Educational Needs,including software, hardware and relevant publications.

Information about past and present Scottish educational researchprojects based on information from a range of organisations includingSCRE, SOEID, students and teachers.

Information on Health Education videos suitable for schools, furthereducation, parents and of general interest.

Materials for Staff Development collated through the Association forStaff Development in Scottish education.

The CD-ROM is available for both Macintosh and Windows platforms and isaccompanied by easy-to-follow guidelines.

Key Documents Digest
In addition to the CD-ROM subscribers will receive a Key DocumentsDigest of recent publications in print. This abstracting service,carried out in SCET, covers key issues relating to Scottish education. This service is ideal for keeping up to date, or for accessinginformation when it is needed and in a format that is easilyassimilated.

Only the most recently published materials will appear in the printedversion of the Key Documents Digest. This information is also on theCD-ROM together with additional abstracts from all relevant materialspublished since 1993
