Putting Our Message Across

If the Technology Centre is a public face of SCET,it is not the only one. Our central messages - that IT opens the door toflexible learning and that SCET stands for complete solutions - have tobe kept in front of as wide an audience as possible. With that in mindwe have sustained a high profile over the year in the fields of education, training and technology:

In conjunction with Argyll and Bute local authority, we ran an ITAccess Day for Argyll and Bute parents on the use of technologyin schools, setting up Cybercafes in secondary schools, offeringtraining on Chronicle software and securing sponsorship for equipment. That same evening we organised in Dunoon Grammar School a lecture, by ProfessorStephen Heppell videoconferenced to other secondaries in the division,on the impact of IT on schools and homes. Our fourth SCET lecture, delivered in Dundee and sponsored by the TES Scotland, was given by SirJohn Daniels, Vice Chancellor of the Open University. We took exhibitionstands at three SCOTVEC roadshows and displayed our educational softwarein Birmingham at the World Conference on Computers in Education. Our demonstrationof how technology is used in a Scottish primary classroom was thehighlight of the conference for many delegates.

Total Solutions

We have come a long way in a short time and we have done a lot to consolidateour status and reputation during the past year. In an era when problem-solvingskills have risen to the top of the educational agenda, it has been ourpriority to construct practical, sensible and complete solutions to satisfyour customers' needs. There seems to us no more effective way of underliningSCET's commitment to learning through technology .
